Oxford Vegan Fayre - Saturday 16th August
August 26, 2008 – 12:13 pm
As usual this Saturday, members of Bedford Animal Action were out on the streets campaigning for a cruelty free world. This time, armed with vegan cheesecake and chocolate fudge cake, we helped out at a free vegan food fayre. Likeminded individuals had organised the event and asked us to do a stall in the town centre to publicise it.
We gave out free samples of goodies, and told the public of the many benefits of a vegan diet. We even had vegan “chicken” on our stall which vegans ‘in the know’ can order online and we were told over and over how much like chicken it tasted, looked and smelled.
The vegan fayre was extremely well attended with over 420 people visiting and sampling the wonderful vegan food on offer, which included, pizza, quiche, curry, burgers, pies, ice cream, cakes, biscuits and much much more. Many people stopped at the stall to tell us how much they had enjoyed the fayre and took recipe’s home with them to try vegan cooking for themselves.
A good day was had by all involved!!
