Bobby Roberts Circus Demos - St Neots Oct 08
October 28, 2008 – 1:15 pm
Campaigners from Bedford Animal Action joined others from Cambridge Animal Rights and the St Neots area to protest against Bobby Roberts continued use of animals in their circus. Demonstrations were held on the opening night in St Neots on Wednesday 8th October and on Friday 10th October. Bobby Roberts circus uses horses, miniature ponies and dogs in its acts and continues to drag Anne, an elderly arthritic elephant, around with them.
Around a dozen protesters gathered on Wednesday evening to hold placards and hand out leaflets to passers-by and those going into the circus. Attendance appeared to be fairly modest considering ticket prices were reduced on this night, so hopefully most people now realise the cruelty that goes on in circuses where animals are still used. Friday night saw another good turn out from campaigners and plenty of leaflets were distributed.
Bedford Animal Action will continue to fight against the cruelty of animal circuses whenever Bobby Roberts or any other circus using animals is in the area.
Please help by boycotting animal circuses, spreading the word and joining us in demonstrations. To see if Bobby Roberts is coming to a town near you check there website at http://www.bobby-roberts.co.uk/
